I have a fetish for stationary. I also like notebooks which don't tear apart easily. The pages have to be tightly bound together.
Writing in a notebook is different from writing online, in so many ways. I'll list them here:
1) You get to practise your handwriting.
2) You have an excuse to buy nice notebooks.
3) You have an avenue for using nice pens that you bought.
4) It's easier to read a notebook than to read off a screen.
5) You internalize better.
6) You learn to write more efficiently, summarizing content better.
7) You don't have to be at a computer.
8) You can format your entries any way you like, no hassle.
9) It's personal, no worries about anyone knowing what you wrote or judging what you wrote.
I could go on, but you get my point. I like notebooks and like writing in them. It makes me happy.
PS: This was an entry I just wrote in a notebook of mine. I typed the whole thing out just to share it with everyone. I think I prefer writing in my notebook. Typing is faster, granted, but less personal. I like my notebook.
