Still in the "OMG GwH!!!" spirit

I read Hui Xian's blog and found a TIMELINE! She actually remembered what happened, throughout all the messy and chaotic events that happened. When I read it I really felt... you know, like the memories all coming back again. The feeling of being lost and the feeling of "holy God it's 2 months to SYF and we ONLY have one song now?". Instead of telling you how I feel, read her post, it'll make so much more sense!

From forandring.livejournal.com (Kwan Hui Xian)
"From the days i first heard our SYF song was going to be Plink Plank Plonk and thinking that they definitely have to be kidding to give us a song with such a weird name. to the days in the canteen during the end-of-year holidays spent trying to piece together our first piece, to the days of shuttling between school and mr liauw's shop. to the days of figuring out "Gavotte" in one night and having the SLs play it together the next day, to the days of changing our song from "Gavotte" to "Katioucha". to having the entire SYF ensemble play it successfully in just 3 hours, to having our song changed yet again. to not knowing whaat on earth our 2nd song would be with only about 2 months left to SYF. from having practices 2 times a week, to 3 times a week, then 4 times a week, then 6 times a week. to all the times we felt discouraged but spurred each other on even more, and all the small gifts here and there we gave each other. from voting for our attire, all the logistics, all the niggly digglies. singing the SYF songs and not caring if the rest of the school thought we were crazy. everything everything everything. all that for the 8 minutes on stage. all that and then it was over. just like that. its stunning. i guess that's why when we walked out after the performance, no one was talking.

(: and we all got what we wanted and more. a Gold with Honours! and so much more than that. the status of having a Gold with Honours is solid evidence of showing the world our standard. i know we truly do deserve it. like what eugene said, we are no longer play as the ensemble. we ARE the ensemble. throughout the ENTIRE process, we stuck together and never fell out. nothing could shake us and now nothing will. cause we got it in black and white (:

walking on stage, it was like no sweat man. im here to perform for you. i know i definitely enjoyed myself! i vaguely remembering there was 1 part i thought was real bad cause it felt like we weren't tutti among ourselves and with mr liauw. and the part where everyone started clapping and the announcer went something along the lines of "thank you Temasek Junior College" when we actually hadn't ended yet!! and the ending part where there was a screw-up but apparently some audience members commented that they didn't notice anything. haha!

then going back to school only to find out that mr liauw ordered us to go back to SCH. "-__- so off we all went! and hearing eugene saying kent choo(senior from 1st GWH batch) said that we "sure win". and feeling expectant of a GWH yet feeling a sense of dread in our tummies. and hearing Suyin say she heard we were good. and hearing 2 out of the 3 schools before us getting GWH. and then "Temasek Junior College: Gold... with honours". i swear my heart stopped beating and my eyeballs ceased functioning.

it feels like.. no kick leh. 1/3 of the schools got Gold with Honours. but here's what im thankful for:

1. we got more applause than anyone! cause the audience thought we ended when we hadn't so they had to clap 2 times for us.

2. we are the only ensemble who can say we got GWH twice in a row since our senior batch were the only ones who got GWH 2 years ago

3. we didn't get anything less than GWH!

ah.. im sorry if anyone stumbles upon this entry and feels like crap cause of.. whatever reason you may feel crap about. like i know we all are boasting. but hey! anyone would be. haha.. im sure no matter what the result was, the experience was priceless!"

So cool! I love all my SIs (: haha ALL of you okay! Hui Xian "Hwee Xian", Zhuang Shu "Zhuang Zhuang", Winne "Pooh Bear" and Jia Xian (hehe) "Salty". Without them I seriously don't know how I'd survive this period! I also cannot forget Janice & Vanessa, Pres and Vice-Pres! Fun-Fair man in this period I think the most number of outgoing calls were to Janice! And the most feared person would be Nessa haha. No one can forget the QMs who were so readily available! Thanks Yikka and Wilson! Haha last but not least, Jia Hui who never forgot to collect fines from me hahahaha. (:

Man these people mould and make my life!
Eugene
