Basket boy!
Man, MJ and I slept at 4; me printing and cutting tags, him presetting the M7CL on my laptop. Oh well it went fine.
We woke up at 7, I rushed to school for morning assembly. After that, we went to do stuff around the school and then Mr Kao and I went to 4tones to get the band equipment. One Marshall ModeFour 350W Head Amp + Marshall Cabinet, One Hartke Bass Amp, One Laney ___W Head Amp + Marshall Cabinet.
And well it was funny, to a certain extent. Haha, Andy, the Bassist of 3dash1, pretended to be the bass TECHNICIAN. Then Shah (from 4tones) played along, the asshole! Haha. They were cursing and swearing the bassist of 3dash1, then Shah went about proclaiming his hate for the bassist and how stuck up he was. Haha, the bassist brought his own amp down and disallowed anyone from touching the amp except he himself.
Anyway the trick was over when 3dash1 came up for their soundcheck. Haha.
Either way, we were supposed to check Rock Syndrome at 2.30pm. They were on time, however the rain started and we had to shut down the gen set (power generator). We were thus declared immobile and useless for 1 and a half hours, and started EQing the drum at 4.00pm! We took nearly AN HOUR to eq the drum, but it was worth it in the end.
The band checks went on, I was not familiar with the M7CL at all so I kinda switched jobs and asked MJ to do the mix levels while I became stage manager and went about checking everyone. So I'd explain the procedure etc etc, get everything ready for them etc..
And yay at 7.30pm we finished 3dash1's soundcheck. This meant that we could start the thing, it officially started at like 7.45pm, and 3dash1 did a GREAT job getting the crowd hyped and geared up! They're awfully nice people! So was EVERYONE! (:
There was The Leaven Trait, who were the nicest among all (heh favouritsm!). They were situated to play the last, but because of time constraints, we had to cut them! In the end, they only played ONE song, but it was great! (: I bought a The Leaven Trait shirt.
The concert went on fine, I worked with the bands so I met quite a few of them, quite nice people overall!
And oh yay! Arrowhead won the competition! Is'syah! Basket siah you, take my DS-1! Haha haven't return yet, but you guys were great! April Tears was good as well =)
Saw-The-Mice saw a change of environment, WOOT METAL! They got the crowd hyped up as well!
Crimson was a bit.. Well dreary, but they had skill! Maybe it's their song choice, their the perfect bar band though!
Rock Syndrome, rocked the house. I still think Renny is the best among all! I spoke to his father, who is quite nice, and found out that he's going to order a double neck Gibson Les Paul CUSTOM made for Renny! DOUBLE NECKED!
3rd prize went to Rock Syndrome, 2nd went to Saw-The-Mice and 1st went to Arrowhead who were great with volume control and crowd hype up!
I hope to work with all of you again! Even though today was full of kinks, setup problems etc, we pulled through in the end. Haha I heard from Mr Bala that the police were going to come down, because people complained to the neighbourhood police post. This meant that Mr Bala would have to write a report, so he got us to quiet down a bit so that the police wouldn't hv to come.
Also, parents whose children failed really badly had to go to the VP's office, which was directly opposite the stage. The VP received a lot of complaints, so did MOE, who called to say that a lot of people living arnd the area are complaining.
Thus, we had to cut short the entire thing. Sigh!
Oh well, I had 3 hours of sleep, and tomorrow I need to be at Kembangan by 6.00am...
I better go shower, grab some food then go to bed. Did I mention? I didn't eat at all, only had a cup of coffee in the morning and followed by lots of drinks through the day. Haha but I'm not hungry... Sigh oh well I'll go eat now!
