publications

Public Addresses
Public Announcements
Public Speeches

There's got to be a reason why we dont disclose information the moment we receive it, or the moment we find the solution, and here's the perfect example.

The reason why we dont disclose information before the time is ripe, is to prevent
No.1) Gossipping and twisting of facts
No.2) Causing unnecessary worry or stress
No.3) Us from publishing our mistake out to the entire public.

The reason why we keep information INSIDE INFORMATION (CONFIDENTIAL) is because we may not be right, mistakes may be made. When we make these mistakes, imagine the amount of disturbance there's going to be when we publish the mistake.

"HUH?! How come only got 17 OGLs? Thought supposed to have 18?!"

And then that one person who was SUPPOSED to be in finds out that he/she was the one who could have been in, until we made a mistake.

So now we have made a mistake, but at your cost. The situation now is to reduce cost, reduce mistake. Surely, this indirectly reflects on our ability to keep issues within council, actually within council. If we had not said a single word to any non-council member, none of the news would have gone out. We could have saved all the anger, saved all the emotion, saved all the stress, bad image, bad mouthing. We could have saved so many things, by just realising our mistake WITHIN ourselves.

If we had corrected the mistake before releasing ANY news, would this have happened? TASC, it's finally time for us to reflect. ALL OF US.

Be it mistakes, glorious deeds, hanging our dirty laundry outside, I am now a firm believer that COUNCIL MATTERS = COUNCIL MATTERS and should NOT be disclosed until the time is ripe, we've fully checked thoroughly.

Do you see how much disturbance we have caused? Because of leakage of news? Do you realise how tarnished our image is now, to those people who once trusted us? Worse still, if we don't rectify this mistake.

Lets undo the wrong. Not work from here, but work backward to re-enact the entire situation, and put the one missing person back in his/her place. Once we have achieved this, I hope no more issue will be brought up.

On the behalf of the TASC, without their permission, yes WITHOUT, I apologise for the inconvenience and unnecessary trouble caused. We should not have disclosed, as we would have realised our mistake sooner or later. And rectified it on the spot. Then nothing like this would have happened in the first place.

Thank you for lending me your listening ears.
